"Steak & Shake is very hit and miss. I've been there and gone inside and my table had all their food in 3 or 4 minutes, very quick, other times I've had to sit in the drive-through for 20 minutes. The good experiences outweigh the bads, though." - 7/31/2007 9:45:36 AM

"If they had a drive through window on Olive Garden you people would cry that it was slow. Well no fake. Like every other Steak & Shake I have been to the one in Middletown can take a few minutes to get your order ready but that's what you should expect for a restaurant of this type. Resident of Middletown says they'll Keep On Buying
"Steak and Shake Rules, but I do not believe it falls into the category of a fast food restaurant.  They probably should not have a drive through at all, they should do it like Penn Station, call ahead, order your food and then drive through and pick it up.

Here is a clue for you, if you go inside and it takes 15 minutes to get your Steak and Shake, it’s going to take 15 minutes outside.

Quit complaining and go get a quick nasty shake and burger from McDonald’s

"I love Steak & Shake, but can anyone say HORRIBLE SERVICE? They have the slowest drive through in the world. Now I understand they make the food fresh and blah blah blah, but let's get serious. I sat in drive through one night for nearly 30 minutes, and it was just me and one other car! What on earth took so long?
